About the studio

  • We’re not the biggest studio in the room. And we’re not trying to be.

What we protect above everything else — above budget, above scale, above the pitch — is the quality of the work.

We craft short films, documentaries, and branded content for people who have a story worth telling — and the conviction to tell it properly.

We’re a small, tight crew based in Western Australia. Deliberately small, we move fast, adapt to what’s in front of us, and get close to the moments that matter.

  • 01 — Stories our kids would be proud of
This is the test we apply before saying yes to anything. Not “is it profitable?” The question is whether the finished work is something worth standing behind in ten years.

    02 — People, place, purpose
Every story worth telling is anchored in one of these — usually all three.

    • A person or a community

    • A place that matters to them

    • A reason for the camera to be there

When all three are present, the film finds itself. When they’re absent, no production value can cover it up.

    03 — Being small is a feature
A small crew in a real environment — real light, real sound, real stakes — captures something a controlled production can’t. Life doesn’t wait for you to set up a shot. We’ve learned not to make it wait. Run-and-gun is a discipline, not an apology for limited resources.

04 — Restraint is a form of respect
We don’t add things a story doesn’t need. Not shots. Not music. Not narration if the picture does the work. Every element earns its place — or it comes out.

  • Every production is different. The approach isn't.

    01

    Find the real story

Before a camera comes out we spend time understanding what's actually happening — not the brief version. We ask questions and listen more than we talk. The story we find here is usually better than the one we were commissioned to tell.

    02

    Show up properly

We arrive prepared and travel light, but bring exactly what the job needs. We don't over-rig. We don't control the environment unless we have to. We put ourselves in position to catch what happens, not to manufacture it.

    03

    Cut honestly

The edit is where the story gets made. We cut everything that doesn't belong — including our favourite shots. The question is always "does this serve the story?" Not "does this look good?" Those answers differ more often than you'd think.

    04

    Stand behind it

We deliver what we agreed to, when we said we would. After delivery we're still available. We're invested in the work past the handover — if a film needs adapting for a new context or platform, we're in for that too.
